Jordan Vandenberg Gets NBA Minutes
17/07/2014

Waverley Falcons Junior and former Big V Youth League star Jordan Vandenberg has logged some quality minutes in the NBA Summer League for the New York Knicks.

Jordan has recently completed his Collegiate career at the famous North Carolina State University (home of the Wolfpack) and College Basketball fans would have caught him on ESPN numerous times during the NCAA season.

Standing a fairly imposing 7 foot 1, Jordan is now on the NBA radar, playing 11 minutes and scoring a few buckets for the ledgendary Knicks in his first Summer League Appearance.

The NBA Summer League is a chance for all teams to see how their younger players, new draft picks and prospective players go in game situations, against other NBA clubs. The best performers in the Summer League get an invitation to the team's training camp, from which the final roster for the NBA season is chosen.

There are a few Aussies playing in Summer League at the moment, as well as Jordan at the Knicks, there is Chris Goulding at Dallas, Cam Bairstow at Chicago, Matthew Dellavedova at Cleveland and recent number 5 overall draft pick Dante Exum.

It is very exciting to have a Falcon in such elite company, knocking on the door of the world's best league.
