18.5 Boys Weekend of Improvement

 The 18.5 Boys were made to work for it, but they came through with the goods riding a three game winning streak into finals, before a close loss in the semi-finals ended their campaign. Team Manager Tony Rowlands told us the weekend was a positive one for the team:

Waverley U18.5 had a sluggish start to the tournament losing their first three games. They then showed great improvement, charging home with 3 good wins, which was enough to make the finals. The boys pushed the undefeated Camberwell  4 right throughout Semi-Final  A eventually being defeated 32-29. Camberwell 4 clearly expended all their effort defeating Waverley 5 in the semi as they were knocked over in the final 45-26 by Eltham 6. A great effort by the boys to turn around a poor start to the tournament to show consistent improvement and a style of play that will see them do well in the months ahead.
