The State Championship Women are on court this Sunday as they play to keep their season alive.
After a strong regular season which saw them finish in secnod place, the Falcons had a tough game last week, battling through some struggles shooting the ball as they fell short against the Sunbury Jets.
They don't call it the double chance for nothing though, and the Falcons get another go at it this week against the Southern Peninsula Sharks.
The Sharks played in an elimination final last week and got the job done, so they won't be nervous at the prospect of elimination. The Falcons will need to be sharp and at their best to keep the fight going another week.
That task will be made much easier with the help of a big, noisy home crowd. We encourage as many Falcons fans as possible to get down to the nest on Sunday and try to help the Falcons get over the line. Tipoff is at 2pm.
The Falcons Youth League Men are the other big ticket item this weekend, as they head out to Sunbury in the hope of sealing the championship following a heartstopping one-point win at home last week.
The 1-0 series lead means that the Falcons have the chance to end the series on Saturday Night, and if they can't get it done on Saturday, they head back out to Sunbury for the decider on Sunday. The second chance is nice, but anyone who has been in this situation knows if you get a chance to win the series on the Saturday, you do everything you can to take it.
It's a bit of a jaunt out to Sunbury, but we really encourage Falcons fans who are able to to make the trip out and support the boys, who have had a great season.
