The Falcons Big V Championship Men will head into 2015 with added depth and experience with the announcement of four big signings for the upcoming season.
A perrenial finals team in the Big V, the Falcons are keen to return to the heights of their back to back championships in 2010-2011, bringing in some high level recruits to play alongside their established core.
Standing an imposing 211cm and possessing good shooting range out to the three point line, Centre Chris Cameron comes across from the Nunawading SEABL Men's team, where he was a key piece in the conference championship this season. Cameron previously played for the Falcons in 2008 and spent time in the NBL for the Singapore Slingers.
Joining Cameron in the short journey from Burwood East are Jason Todorov and Nathan Kennedy. Todorov is a veteran of the SEABL competition with the Spectres, and his experience and versatility in guarding multiple positions will be a massive asset for the Falcons this season. Kennedy progressed from a standout junior career to play at the College level in the USA, after which he returned to the Spectres to play SEABL. Kennedy will play a comba guard role for the Falcons and adds great enegry and experience to the Falcons' guard rotation.
The Falcons have also aquired the services of classy Point Guard Bryce Arnott. Arnott was an elite level Junior with Dandenong, and has experience at the SEABL level, and most recently played in Queensland in the high level QBL. With great speed and a damaging three point shot, Arnott will be a headache for opposition Point Guards.
The signings are sure to boost the Falcons into the conversation for early season championship contention, however with a long pre-season ahead, the Falcons will hit the court ready to work towards the season's tip off in March.
