One of the great weeks on the WBA Calendar is Junior Grand Final week.

Beginning on Tuesday, September 9, there will be 41 Grand Finals played across our Tuesday Girls, Saturday Juniors, Saturday Girls and Sunday Juniors competitions.

It is set to be a fantastic celebration of our Winter 2014 season. It has been a history making season for the WBA Junior Domestic competitions, with our Under 16 Competition moved to Sunday for the first time, and the commencement of a new venue at Ashburton Primary.

If Semi Final week is anything to go by, we are in for plenty of exciting games and maybe even a few upsets.

Of the 75 Semi Finals that were played in our Junior Competitions last week, 24 were won by lower ranked teams, meaning 32% of Semi Finals resulted in upsets. Despite this, only three sections across the entire program will feature Grand Finals with both lower ranked teams, including two in Under 12 Girls.

All 10 WBA Domestic Clubs have at least one team playing in a Grand Final. The most represented clubs are Malvern Tigers (17 teams in Grand Finals), Solway (16) and Caulfield Malvern Piranhas (11). Six Grand Finals will see teams from the same club face off against one another.

Presentations for Grand Finals will take place after each game. Tuesday and Sunday presentations will take place in the WBA Club Room, while Saturday presentations will take place on Court 4.
