We are entering the tournament time of year for Junior Falcons, and many of our teams are preparing to play in at least one of the upcoming tournaments.

The Nunawading Spectres tournament has now closed its registrations, the tournament will be in the stadiums surrounding the Burwood East area (inlcuding Waverley) and inlcudes many interstate teams in levels from A Grade (VC/VJL 1) down to C Grade (Regional). Fixtures for this tournament will be posted in and around early next week.

The Melbourne Tigers tournament runs at Dandenong in the middle weekend of the July school holidays. The tournament caters for all levels of representative and domestic Basketball, although there are some restrictions on how many rep players are permitted in teams in the lower divisions. Entries for this tournament close on June 23.

The prestigious National Junior Classic is an invitation only tournament that features the top ranking teams in Victorian Junior Championship, as well as the top few teams from SA, NSW and the ACT. Waverley has become and increasingly consistent participant at the Classic in various age groups since the Under 16 Boys qualified for the first time ever in 2004. The whisper around the stadium is that at least oen Falcons team has earned their place this year, more details on that to come soon.

There are a number of other metropolitan and country tournaments on the horizon which teams are encouraged to look into.
