Three Waverley Big V players have claimed statistical awards in their respective leagues for the 2013 season.
One of the great accumulators in Big V Basketball, Ivan Platenik, once again claimed the Big V scoring title. It is another feather in the cap for Ivan who has been the most consistent performer in the league over the last decade. His great season included a whopping 45 point outburst in the final game of the regular season against Melbourne.
Dynamic Point Guard Sedale Threatt Jnr showed off all of his silky skills this season on his way to the 'Golden Hands' award, which as awarded to the most efficient player in the league, with assists and steals measured against turnovers. The entertaining guard had some massive games, and always delivers the numbers right across the stats sheet.
State Youth Championship Men superstar Deng Adel has been named the historical first ever winner of the VYCM scoring crown. Adel had the sort of season where dropping 30 points was just another day at the office, and sent shockwaves through the league with his relentless scoring, not to mention always being good for his share of rebounds and assists, and shooting at a good percentage.
The WBA congratulates all three gentlemen on their fine seasons.
