The Falcons Big V Championship Men will be fighting for a Grand Final spot when they take on the Corio Bay Stingrays at the Falcon Nest this weekend.
Despite being 1-0 down in the Best of Three series, the Falcons will have every reason to believe they can turn around this series, starting with game two at Waverley on Saturday Night, 8pm.
Last week at Corio Bay, the Falcons topped the 100 point mark for an unprecedented seventh straight game, however the Stingrays were even slicker offensively, taking the win 118-105 in an offensively charged game. Stingrays import Eric Williams was phenomenal with 45 points and other Stingrays to impress included Maalo Hicks and Jason Reardon. The Falcons got great input from Brad Kelleher (28 pts) and Chris Arkell (27pts) with a few others in double figures.
If the Falcons are successful on Saturday Night, they will push the series to a third and deciding game on Sunday at Waverley at 2pm.
If game one is anything to go by, this game is sure to be an absolute ripper, with plenty of offensive talent on the floor. Get down to the Nest on Saturday Night to see if the Falcons can keep their season alive.
The Falcons Championship Women are also playing for a Grand Final spot, trying to force a game three in their series against Ringwood, their game on Saturday is at 6:15pm at Maroondah Indoor Sports Centre.
