In a massive weekend of Big V at the Falcon Nest, all four Falcons senior teams played at home, and all four recorded good wins.
The VYC Women got the weekend started with a quality win over the highly regarded Bendigo Lady Braves, who are strongly in the mix for a finals spot. The win was set up on the back of a strong team performance as evidenced by having seven players score eight or more points.
The VYC Men then took on the Hawthorn Magic who defeated the Falcons in a close encounter earlier in the season. This was another close one, with the Falcons taking the win by just eight points. The win solidifies the Falcons spot in the top four of their conference.
Sunday saw the two Senior teams on show as the Championship Women did battle with the Melbourne Tigers. In a game that was close throughout, the Falcons big names shone when it mattered most, as the home team secured a crucial victory.
The Championship Men drew curtains on the weekend with a high scoring showdown against Hume City. The Falcons topped the century mark an notched up a quality win with everyone getting in on the action. The win sees the Falcons edge clear of Diamond Valley for a finals spot.
The Men are on the road next week, while the Women play a Sunday Double Header at home.
