Beginning on the 16th March, Waverley Basketball Association began to broadcast all BigV Home Games live on the internet. This was another first for the Association which has been a leader in the adoption of digital technology to enhance the experience of the players and spectators. In the first two months of competition over 350+ viewers from all around the world have logged on.
Not only has there been an ongoing increase in the number of viewers each weekend but those viewers are staying online and watching a lot longer. The average duration has gone up by a third over April.
Whilst the vast majority of viewers are from Australia, there is a developing fanbase in the following countries:
United States, United Kingdom, Taiwan, Poland, Sweden, Canada, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland, Kyrgyzstan, Ireland, Greece, France, Germany, Denmark, Belgium, Argentina, Virgin Islands, India, Serbia, Norway
FalconsTV is also providing a training ground for all interested in media production of live events. The Camera crews are drawn from the Junior teams, and parents, whilst there is also involvement from students from Box Hill TAFE and other community minded organisations.
