At the Annual Basketball Victoria Awards Dinner on April 30, Waverley received the Referee Program of the Year Award for 2012.

The award recognises the exceptional growth of the Referee Assoication over the year, and the numerous improvements that have been made all across the referee program, including retention of junior referees, number of referees upgraded over the course of the year, and the rise in elite 'Panel' referees from Waverley.

General Manager Mike Bullock, Referee Advisor Andrew Cavell and WBRA President and Assistant Advisor Chris Salmon were on hand to accept the award.
