IT was Larissa Anderson’s dapper game-high 30 points which propelled Waverley to victory on Sunday against a determined Sandringham outfit and also earned her the Hops player of the week title.
In a tight four-point match, Anderson was the difference, hitting her target at a credible 60 per cent from the field, including five from eight three-pointers in her tally.
The star play-maker also managed four defensive boards, a steal and an assists as well as drawing four fouls on the opposition.
Anderson’s stellar game lands her first player of the week title.
With Waverley heading into the finals race this weekend against a hungry Dandenong outfit, Anderson is powering at the right end of the season.
Other contenders this weekend included:
- Dandenong’s Faith Probst almost earned her second POTW title after notching up 24 points at 64 per cent from the field in the Ranger’s 16-point victory over Bulleen on Sunday. Probst managed as additional three blocks and two steals to further impress.
- Geelong’s Charmaine Fergusson was inspirational on Saturday night against a powering Sandringham. Fergusson hit 25 of the Cats’ 55 points in the 37-point loss. She also pulled-in seven rebounds to mark herself as the shining light in the Geelong outfit.
