Falcons Sign Mikaela Dombkins

The Waverley Falcons State Championship Women have boosted their stocks with the signing of Canberra Captials Guard Mikaela Dombkins.

Having already secured the services of WNBL teammate Bridgitte Ardossi, the signing of Dombkins is a fantastic result for the Falcons, who while showing signs of improvement, have struggled with depth early in the Big V season.
General Manager Mike Bullock says Dombkins comes to the Falcons with an exceptional Basketball resume, "Mikaela has represented Australia at Junior level and has played for some seasons in the WNBL for Sydney and Canberra."
With two regular starters still in the USA until the end of the Collegiate school year, the Falcons have called on their youth to fill the void in the early games, and have been right in every game they have played, including a good win over Diamond Valley.
Dombkins will play a key role in bridging the gap between the energetic young Falcons players, and the class and experience needed to win consistently at the State Championship level, Mike Bullock only too aware of the value of players with the experience of Dombkins and Ardossi, "As all bar two of our current players are eligible to play in Championship Youth League , we needed another senior player to join Brigitte Ardossi to assist with their development.
“With Georgia Stirton due back soon from college along with Taylor Dickinson, it should make us more competitive for the balance of the season.”
The Falcons take on the top team Hume City this Saturday Night at Broadmeadows in a double header, with the Men playing immediately after.
