The Waverley Basketball Association has installed a state of the art defibrillator in the Canteen area upstairs.

With the generous support of Play Safe Surfaces, we have followed the lead of many other sporting associations and public utilities in having this life saving technology installed.

All WBA staff and Referee Supervisors have been shown how the defibrillator works, as well as Club Delegates for Junior Domestic. It is a very simple machine that cannot be used innapropriately, it runs scans on any patient before delivering any shocks, so if a patient is not suffering from Cardiac Arrest, it will not produce a shock. The machine also talks the user through what steps to follow, and guides them through the entire process.

This technology has been identified by associations all around Victoria and Australia as a must, and WBA is thankful for the support of Play Safe Surfaces and in helping us provide this crucial service for users of the stadium.
