Sandringham 66 dft. Waverley 46
THE Sabres have gotten the edge over the Falcons this week, after a highly-fought intense match.
Sandringham powered to the lead right from the start and never looked back, to secure a strong 20-point win and follow up last week’s victory over number eight team Frankston. Sabre Lauren Cooper earned MVP honours for the match, making a solid 24 points for the team.
The Falcons fought back with Claire Landby and Leanda Higgs, who made 10 points but it was not enough to overcome the number nine team. After a double-header loss this weekend, Waverley go home with a desire for revenge while the Sabres face a tough double-header next week against Knox and Eltham.
Game MVP: Lauren Cooper (Sandringham Sabres)

THE Tigers have ended their three-match losing streak with a strong victory over the Falcons this week.
Number 10 team Waverley led for the first quarter until the Tigers fought back to steal the lead with Louella Tomlinson, who made an impressive 28 points and 10 rebounds. With higher shooting accuracy from the field goal area (39 per cent) and three-point line (30 per cent), the Tigers were able to maintain control of the match and walk away with their fourth win this season.
Meanwhile, Waverley will be reeling from their defeat by the 12th team and will no doubt be eager to bounce back during this crucial time of the season.
