The Cats went to Waverley with their backs against the wall facing a much classier opponent, but they pushed the Falcons more than expected before going down by 13 points. Scores were level in the first term before the Falcons began to edge away. Kathleen Macleod showed her class with 25 points and 8 assists with Julie Brookhouse backing her up with 12 points. Prue Kenny was the best for Geelong with 17 points. Surprisingly, the Falcons had 20 turnovers to Geelong’s 7.
