ALL THINGS BIG BOUNCE
With the Big Bounce on our very doorstep, Big V has some exciting announcements to make about the hottest event in town this coming weekend.
The Head Coaches have been decided upon to lead their respective divisions for the Big Bounce crown.
In his first season as Big V coach for the new Corio Bay Stingrays, Dan Riches will handle the reigns and the pressure of leading the State Championship side into the Big Bounce.
Heading the very talented Division One Men’s team will be Mildura Heat coach James Madigan. With a ton of experience under his belt, the exciting squad will certainly be fired up and keen to take it all.
Keysborough Head Coach Nathan Vogt will be in charge of the Division Two Men. Vogt has spearheaded Keysborough for years and will definitely add a bit of spice to the Big Bounce with the underdog tag.
And finally former NBA star for the Los Angeles Lakers, Sedale Threatt Snr. Will lead the upstart State Youth Championship team. They will be full of energy and bounce, bound to cause some trouble with Waverley’s Threatt at the helm.
But the coach’s have more to do than just lead their team to victory. They will also be judges in the first Big Bounce Dunk Contest titled “Flight #2012”.
4 participations will take part, which will take place following the Division One vs. Division Two game. Jason Conway from Maccabi will represent Division Two, Abram Hothnyang will wave the flag for State Youth Championship, Manny Hendrix will jam for Division One and Bennie Lewis will get up for State Championship.
Each contestant will have 2 dunks to perform in the opening round. The two with the highest combined score will advance to the final where they’ll dunk twice more each to decide the winner of the dunk contest.
Without further ado, the team selections have been finalized. With the two remaining spots filled via fan vote on the Big V poll, we have the participants all locked in for the 20TWELVE Big Bounce.
