Waverley Basketball Association have won the City of Monash Club of the Year for 2011, at the City of Monash Active Awards Night on April 4. WBA General Manager Mike Bullock was on hand to accept the award.

The City of Monash Active Awards are designed to acknowledge Clubs, Community Service Providers and Individuals who demonstrate excellence in their respective fields. In addition to recognizing individual Let’s All Play participants and community organizations, clubs have been nominated by council for their demonstration of excellent management and administration in relation to council obligations and requirements. They are then invited to showcase other additional achievements and special projects with respect to their sport, members and the local community. From all sporting clubs participating in the City of Monash, 10 are finally nominated for the Club of the Year Award.
At the Awards night held at the Monash Art Centre on Wednesday the 4th of April, The Waverley Basketball Association were awarded the 2011 Monash Club of the Year.
Waverley Basketball Association General Manager, Mike Bullock in receiving the award said it was an honor to receive such an award on behalf of the Association. The staff and volunteers work very hard to provide participation for all in the Monash community to be involved in helping to provide a healthy and safe environment.
