There has been some confusion regarding the implementation of WBA's new Zone Defence rule.

Club Delegates were sent an email last week explaining the new rule, its purpose and that it would be brought in at the conclusion of the grading period. Attached to this email was a draft of the new rule, which delegates had the opportunity to read and provide feedback to the WBA before the rule was announced on our website.

This document was simply a draft, not inteded to be public notification of the new rule. The document stated the rule was to be introduced on Saturday November 12th, this is because the draft was written before we had decided on a date of implemenation. Club Delegates were sent a follow up email shortly after confirming the rule was to be introduced after grading and not Saturday November 12th.

The Zone Defence rule will be introduced on the first Saturday after the grading period. This will be Saturday November 26. Information regarding the rule will be sent to delegates and posted on the website this week, so coaches will have time to make any adjustments before the 26th.
