MacLeod makes proud to take out POTW

KATHLEEN MacLeod continued stellar season for Waverley with another round-high bag of points, snaring her a third player of the week title during round 11.

The unselfish national league player started her weekend at the Broadmeadows Basketball Stadium on Saturday night with a respectable 13 points and eight assists in Falcon’s 13 point loss to Hume City.

But it was her Sunday outing at the Waverley Basketball Stadium which clenched the weekly honours.

MacLeod posted a game-high 32 points (shooting at 75 per cent from the field), collected six boards and dished off eight assists in her side’s three-point victory over Sandringham.

She was the difference between victory and defeat in the tight clash against the second-placed Waverley and the fifth-placed Sandringham.

Other contenders this weekend included:

Sandringham’s Alex Lough who produces the goods week after week. This week she managed a 27 and 12 point-haul during round 11 against Geelong and Waverley respectively. Lough also pulled in 18 boards for the rounds and gave off four assists.
Bulleen’s Lisa Pardon backed-up her round 10 POTW honours with a game-high 26 points, including four three-pointers in her side’s 10-point loss to Eltham on Saturday night at the Templestowe Leisure Centre
