Hume City Broncos 106 dft Waverley Falcons
IT WAS a hard fought match-up at the Broadmeadows Basketball Stadium on Saturday night in which the home side prevailed.
Despite 30 lead changes and eight tied situations, it was the Broncos who held the lead for more than 36 minutes of play, with Hume City’s big men being the difference.
Mike Spears led the charge for the Broncos with a game-high 28 points and nine boards while Pierre Jallow showed form to produce a 25 point game and chip-in with an additional nine boards.
For the Falcons, it was Matt Burson and Simon Blennerhassett who did the damage with 21 points apiece with Ivan Platenik and Matthew Shannahan chipping in 16 points each.

Ringwood Hawks 116 dft Waverley 101
A DESPERATION for the ball was what got Ringwood the points on Sunday afternoon at the Maroondah Indoor Sports Stadium.
This, accompanied by another game-high performance from Luke McMillian (29 points) and six other players in double-figures with Matthew Snowball playing through injury, handed the game to the home side.
Andrew Walter gave his all for the Falcons, hitting 22 points, whilst Ivan Platenik showed form to post 18 points and 16 boards.
