YOUTH LEAGUE WOMEN
Waverley 84 defeated Eltham 65
Waverley strongly stated that they are definitely the second best squad on the park after they comfortably beat third placed Eltham on Sunday afternoon. Caitlin Hindle’s 27 point explosion was a big reason for the win as she knocked down 10/20 including 4 threes. For Eltham, Alira Mihocic led the way with 18 points while Rachael McKeown had 14 points in a row where a huge 63 fouls were called.

STATE CHAMPIONSHIP WOMEN
Waverley 75 defeated Eltham 50
When you find yourself down 46 to 16 at the half, you know it’s not going to be a good afternoon. Eltham’s Zoe Carr was a lone soldier, and with 11 points, was the only Wildcat in double figures. Waverley’s Laura Thomas had a hot hand, nailing 25 with 6 boards to go along with it. Alex Lough had a good time too with 10 rebounds backing up her 12 point haul.

YOUTH LEAGUE MEN

Eltham 74 defeated Waverley 70

Even the return of college bound Dexter Kernich-Drew wasn’t enough to get the Falcons the W as Ty Davidson’s massive double double of 20 points and 20 boards was too hot for Waverley to handle as they dropped their second game in a row.

Although Eltham are leaving their run a little late, finals are by no means out of the question for these hungry Wildcats who will need more performances like this if they are to factor in the post-season this year.

STATE CHAMPIONSHIP MEN
Eltham 94 defeated Waverley 84
The Wildcats have pulled off one of the upsets of the State Championship season with a huge second half to record a 10 point win over the Waverley Falcons. Ashley Bryar was unstoppable for Eltham, dropping 25 points including 5 triples with John Lister in good support with 19. As always, Ivan Platenik was the standout with a battling 25 points and 14 board display to keep the Falcons in touch, but it was no use as the Wildcats won their second game of the 2010 season.
