Its official- after their second big win over the weekend against a quality side- the Geelong Lady Cats have set themselves up as Championship favourites 7 rounds into the competition. Every period was competitive but it was the ability of Geelong to just keep inching further and further ahead as the game went, whilst doing a great defensive job on Waverley that saw them run out 18 point winners. Madeleine Taylor, with 18 points and 6 boards was the leading scorer for the Cats- with veteran Suzi Porter shooting an impressive 19 points for Waverley.

The Falcons have continued their good form with a 25 points win over the Hawthorn Magic on Sunday afternoon.
Georgia Stirton lead the way with 16 points and 9 rebounds while Hawthorn was another team falling to the zero double digit scoring curse as they floundered offensively, collecting a cool 29 turnovers. With Steph Perch held in check all night, the Magic struggled to find any rhythm, and it ultimately cost them.
