Youth League 1 Men
Waverley 91 defeated Ringwood 84
A poor third quarter proved costly in the end for a fast finishing Hawks team. Losing the third quarter 12 to 31 built a bridge too far for the Hawks who eventually lost the game 84 - 91. Full credit to the Waverley side (2-1) who were again led by the mercurial Dexter Kernich-Drew who finished the game with 32 pts and 4 rebounds. Dexter was well supported by teammates Dylan Wayman 12/4/3 and Daniel Wilkins 10/2/3. For Ringwood (0-2), Trent Zomer led the way with 30/12, and Michael Steller had 25/7.

Youth League Women
Waverley 65 defeated Geelong 50
Barely a point came between these two strong contenders all match, finding themselves all tied up at the half. Although Waverley threatened to break free a few times in the third, the young Cats steadied and were still within 2 points of the Falcons with less than 5 minutes to play. The Waverley girls broke free of Geelong’s constrictive defence, closing the match out courtesy of a 15-2 run. Waverley’s Hundle (16pts) and Dickinson (12pts, 12 reb) filled the stats column, with Geelong’s Dorning (4pts, 7reb, 4ast,2st) & Barnard battled hard, but felt the loss of experienced team members Hatton & King.

State Championship Men
Ringwood 114 defeated Waverley 92
Ringwood held off a determined Waverley line-up with a 22 point win, 114-92. The Hawks got off to a fast start and held a 7 point lead at quarter time and increased that to 12 (63-51) at the half. Waverley, playing without their on court leader Sedale Threatt Jnr, increased their intensity in the 3rd quarter to cut the deficit to only 5 at 3/4 time. The Hawks closed the game full of running to take their 3rd win of the season, and remain with a perfect record for the year.
Top scorers for Ringwood were Darryl Corletto with 26 points, and Luke McMillan with 23 points. US import Kevin Ratzsch had a classy 19 and 10 rebounds. For Waverley, it was Ivan Platenik with 24 and 13 rebounds, Simon Blennerhasset with 23 and 9 rebounds and Kevin Benn chipping in with 19

State Championship Women
Waverley 65 defeated Ringwood 64
The Waverley Falcons have defeated the Ringwood Hawks in an absolute thriller on Sunday afternoon at the Waverley basketball stadium. Ringwood have more than proved they belong in State Championship and were unlucky not to pinch a win over last year’s runners-up.
March player of the Month Laura Thomas continued her outstanding form leading her team to victory with 18 points and 4 boards and well supported by Suzi Porter with 16 points and 5 boards. Katie Shanahan and Amanda Behnke led the way for Ringwood with 21 and 15.
