Waverley Falcons Championship Women are pleased to announce the new signing of WNBL 180cm Forward/Centre Larissa Anderson for the current 2008 Big V Season.
Larissa plays in the Womens National Basketball League (WNBL) for the Dandenong Rangers, last year averaging 11 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. All up Larissa tallied 219 points and 58 rebounds in 20 games. Previously to that she was ranked top ten in the WNBL 2002/03 season for total rebounds (180), 3 pt percentage (30), steals (1.9) and blocks (1.6).
Other career highlights include being awarded Bulleen Boomers MVP 2002/03, and captain of Bulleen Melbourne Boomers from 2002 to 2004/05. Larissa began her WNBL career in 1995, and was awarded 2004 SEABL Women's Coach of the Year and Victorian Female Coach of the Year. She played in the Chinese Basketball League during her 2004 offseason, and with the Bendigo Lady Braves Conference & National Champions 2003. She was awarded the Australian U23 Youth Player of the Year in the ABA plus National, South Conference and All-Conference team in 1998.
