It was a much-needed win which Waverley secured against Eltham on Saturday night – only their third for the season.

Falcons’ coach Eric Minerve said his side was beginning to develop confidence in themselves and the Waverley systems.

“I hope we can carry this momentum into the rest of the season,” Minerve said.

“It was a solid effort on Eltham’s part.”

It was Ivan Platenik who once again shone for the home side, collecting 21 points and a staggering 21 rebounds.

He was aided by Curtis Small, who found some form to post 20 points and five assists.

James Orr also chipped-in with 18 points and six rebounds.

For Eltham, it was Adam Moore who managed to string together a team-high total of 14 points and 12 boards, whilst Luke Egan chipped-in with 13 points and seven rebounds and Nick Jones collected 12 points.
