With only seven players suiting up, Eltham’s prospects for a victory were grim from the outset.
Waverley took control of the floor from the jump and did not relinquish the lead for the remainder of the match.
Eltham coach Shannon Bodley said the result was how it should have been.
“But I thought we really battled hard because we were up against it from the start,” Bodley said.
It was always going to be hard with seven players.”
For Waverley, Suzi Porter led the points tally, collecting 12, with Jill McBain and Laura Thomas (eight rebounds) notching up 11 points apiece.
Fiona Richards and Julie Brookhouse also chipped in, collecting nine points each.
For Eltham, it was Hannah Pickford who shone with 16 points and nine rebounds, whilst Therese Leslie collected nine points and five rebounds.
