Harrington to take the helm

Big V Basketball chairman Daryl Neal, on behalf of the board of management, is pleased to announce Ken Harrington as the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of the league.

Harrington enters this role with a wealth of basketball knowledge, having been involved within the Big V for almost 20 years. He will take the reins from Monday June 22, 2009.
 
At present, Harrington is the head-coach of Ringwood’s State Championship Men’s team, and as a testament to his commitment, the board have agreed to allow Harrington to complete his duties with Ringwood for the remainder of the 2009 season.
 
“Ken is also coming to the Big V with a new and fresh approach to the league and will work with the board and staff to enhance our brand throughout Victoria,” Neal added.
Of his appointment, Harrington said he was eager to get in the seat.
 
"I have been around the league for 20 years and loved every minute of it,” Harrington said. “I am excited at the chance to be able to contribute from the front line and help develop the league into something that every kid strives to be involved in one day."
