In a major upset, Waverley overcame the stronghold of Sandringham to snatch a nine-point victory. The Falcons charge was led by Darren Smith with a handy 16 points and Brad Hill who hit an impressive 15 points and snagged 12 boards. Simon Conn gave his all to hit a game-high 23 points and 10 boards for Sandringham with good support from Sedale Threatt. The Falcons relinquished the lead on three times, but managed the good to take the upset of the “Waverley were simply too strong for us today,’’ Crivelli said.
