Tough Weekend for Youth League Women

Kilsyth 65 dft Waverley 40
It was a good win for the Cobras this week, who extend their winning streak to three matches now. Brittany White, Jordyn O’Shea and Courtney Healy did most of the damage for the Cobras, helping them stay in the lead for most of the match.

Waverley saw some strong shooting from Tamara Matecic, who made 13 points, but they were ultimately unable to rattle the lead from the Cobras, who dominated especially in the last quarter.
Game MVP: Laura Gebbing (Kilsyth) & Jordyn O’Shea (Kilsyth)

Knox 85 dft Waverley 44
Knox have added a twelfth match to their unbeatable winning streak with their victory over the Falcons this week. Top scorers for the Raiders Alana Wallis and Jess May together showed an impressive effort, each making a solid 29 baskets to keep Knox in the lead.

Waverley were unable to reach the Raider’s shooting accuracy of 43% for field goals, 53% for three points and 44% for free throws, managing only 29% of field goals, 25% of three points and 33% of free throws.

Knox certainly look to be in form for next week’s tough double header against Hume City and Nunawading while the Falcons will be eager for a win against Melbourne next week after this week’s disappointing double-header loss.
Game MVP: Alana Wallis (Knox) & Jess May (Knox)
