WBA are excited with the prospect of seeing many familiar faces back at the club soon. Management and staff are back working hard behind the scenes at the stadium with cleaning and maintenance tasks, as well as modelling the new look ’21 seasons for junior, senior and representative basketball. We are well informed and up to date with all government announcements and have regular communication with Basketball Victoria, regarding a return to basketball.

WBA understand gymnasiums and other facilities are slowly starting to open up, however at this stage we are waiting to confirm details surrounding what constitutes a separate space and venue capacity limits, what level of the Basketball Victoria Guidelines basketball will resume (eg. Orange 20/50) and working behind the scenes to prepare the venue and for upcoming programs to ensure the safest return possible. Please be assured, Basketball Victoria are working closely with the Victorian Government and are keeping associations informed.

Junior Domestic:
We thank junior domestic clubs for their support and feedback during the modelling stage for upcoming competitions. This process has now concluded and detailed online resources are being created to answer all questions surrounding the upcoming season and venue availability. These shall be posted online following the next government announcements on November 22nd

The season will be split in two parts to allow clubs and families to split their registration fees into 10 rounds, followed by 16 rounds, so that families are not paying upfront for 26 rounds.
This model also allows flexibility next year should any further restrictions be made down the track.

VJBL:
Trials for the upcoming season, like many things, will be different to previous years. We want basketball to be welcoming and fun upon return and our team selection process for 2021 in Junior Championship needs to reflect this. Rep Ready Skill sessions will be held prior to tryouts to slowly introduce basketball to our athletes after the extended time away, these dates will be announced shortly. Competition is set to resume in Mid January, with more information to be provided by BV shortly.
The registration for tryouts is now open. This year all players must register prior to tryouts commencing.

WBA would like to thank everyone for their continued support and understanding during this extended time away. Please remain patient as we work through the new circumstances and we promise to update our community of any changes and happenings accordingly. We cannot wait to have you all back at the stadium soon.
