Waverley Women Recruit 2009 Weapons

THE 2009 season is heating up for the Waverley Falcons with the recruitment of two stellar performers – former Melbourne Tiger Laura Thomas (2008 season averages of 10.7ppg, 5.7 rpg, 1.1 apg) and Sandringham Sabre Alex Lough (2008 season averages of 13.5ppg, 9.1rpg, 1.6apg.)
After making it into the grand final series for the past two seasons, the Falcons outfit is set to come out firing and make it third time lucky.
With the further addition of Tess Feery, Brooke McKay and Jill McBain who return from their 2008 campaigns overseas to the already prominent names of Julie Brookhouse, Suzi Rayment (nee Porter), Melanie Fraser, Norlena Brien, Renay Bresnan and Carleigh Egan  - the Falcons are set to be a power-force in 2009.
Adding to the new recruits is the signing of new head coach Mark Chivers, who brings with him NBL, WNBL and SEABL leagues.
Waverley Falcons General Manager Mike Bullock said was looking forward to the coming season and believed his outfit would be explosive on the floor.
