All on the line for Falcons men on Sunday
Win and move on to the semi-finals, lose and begin a long off-season.
That's the equation facing the Falcons State Championship Men this week as they prepare to host the McKinnon Cougars in an elimination final on Sunday.
While they have been assured of a spot in finals for some time, a home loss to Ringwood last week pushed the Falcons out of the top-two and the comfort of a free ride to the semis. They'll have to do it the hard way, there's no second chances now.
The good news for the Falcons is they have gotten the better of McKinnon in both of their match-ups during the season, although their most recent bout went all the way to the wire.
The Cougars possess considerable firepower, with a starting lineup that includes gun import Dillon Stith and former Falcons stalwart Ivan Platenik.
The Falcons aren't short of some star power themselves; import Desmond Simmons has been outstanding of late, and mid-season addition Jason Reardon has lived and breathed finals basketball over the years, steering Corio Bay to championship success in their early seasons.
This promises to be as intense and exciting as finals basketball has been at the nest for a long time. Two highly talented teams giving it everything for a chance to advance to the next round.
This game is not to be missed. After all, there's no second chances now.

Falcons Women finish top-two, free Uber to the semi-finals
Despite dropping their two previous games, the Falcons strong mid-season form saw them put enough wins in the bank to snare a coveted top-two spot and proceed straight to the State Championship Women semi-finals.
This gives the Falcons a chance to freshen up any injuries, and review their game plan ahead of the semi finals. It won't be easy, they'll play the top ranked elimination final winner, but they are in a good spot and can enjoy a breather before gearing up for a big effort next week.
