TOM Burns’ stellar 32 points and 14 boards propelled Diamond Valley to a 14 point win against Waverley. But it wasn’t easy for the home side. Scores were tight throughout the first half, with either side managing a clean break. It wasn’t until the third term that the home side managed to secure a comfortable buffer and retain it. Although the Falcons were tipped to take the honours, the Eagles recovered from a trip to Traralgon the night before to hold on for the win.
