Semi-Final schedules

Fixtures and schedules for Junior Semi-Finals this weekend have now been published.

There have been some minor changes since fixtures were first loaded on Tuesday so we urge all teams to please double check their game times on both the fixture page, and the game schedule.

Please remember only qualified players are allowed to play in finals games, qualification lists can be found here:

Please also be aware of the following information relating to finals games this weekend:

TIMING RULES

Semi-Finals use the same timing rules as during the season. The only exception is that if a game is tied at the end of the second half, five minutes overtime will be played. Teams will continue to play the same direction as during the second half; team fouls will remain from the second half and the clock stops for all whistles in the final two minutes of overtime.

SMOOTH RUNNING

Finals games usually account for a few slight changes from what we are used to during the season, and with some common sense and courtesy we can help each other get through the day.

It's not uncommon for finals games to run late. There are often more fouls, timeouts and other stoppages in the last two minutes than normal, and there's a chance some games might go to overtime. That being said, we have a tight schedule we need to keep to, so please ensure teams are ready to start games at the conclusion of the warm up time.

There is also an increase in spectators for finals games, so it's important to keep others in mind. Please vacate benches at the conclusion of your game so the next team can set up, and avoid standing on the court area while games are being played.

More people in the door means more cars around the car park and surrounding streets. We strongly reccommend arriving early and/or carpooling to ease congestion and avoid a last minute rush at the front entry booth.

CONDUCT

Finals are an exciting time for all involved. With the excitment of finals comes more emotion and intensity. It's important that all of this energy is directed in a positive manner. Players, coaches and referees are all under pressure, and we all need to make sure our words and actions set a good example for all the young players.

Please remember that any issues that may occur during a game should be addressed through the following channels:

1) Calmy brought to the attention of the game referees by the coach or team manager at an appropriate break in the game.

2) If the referees are not in a position to handle the issue, please seek out the Referee Supervisor immediately. The Referee Supervisor can be found either in the referee room or out on the courts monitoring games.

3) Any further issues from the game which cannot be addressed at game time through these channels should be directed through official Club Delegates for follow up with WBA.
