Backs against the wall as series heads to the Nest

Things didn't go as planned for the Falcons in Game 1 of their best of three series against Ringwood on Saturday Night, leaving them in a must-win situation as the series heads to the Falcons Nest this weekend.

The Falcons need to win Game 2 on Saturday Night to force a deciding Game 3 on Sunday, with a spot in the State Championship Men's Grand Final on the line.

It was a gamely effort from the Falcons for most of the night, playing without NBL Guard Dexter Kernich-Drew and with other players hampered by illness and foul trouble, however the Hawks scoring prowess was too much in the fourth, as the margin pushed out towards 20 points.

A confident Ringwood outfit is a daunting prospect heading into Game 2, but with no more chances after this, the Falcons will need to show their Championship credentials and play a very good four quarters to keep the series alive. A week is a long time and the Falcons will no doubt regroup and be ready to go for Saturday Night.

It promises to be a great night at the Falcons Nest with all the big names leaving it all out on the floor.

The best bit is that if the Falcons can snare a win on Saturday Night, we all get to come back on Sunday and do it again in a deciding Game 3. It could be a truly epic weekend for Falcons Big V Basketball.
