It was a night full of prestige as more than 800 people gathered to celebrate the 2008 award winners at the Big V Presentation Dinner. The annual event was held at Mooney Valley Racecourse, with Glenn Manton acting as Matron of Ceremonies for the evening.
Waverley’s Championship Women and Youth League Men’s teams were both Runners Up in their respective divisions. The Championship Men were also good competitors in the finals this year narrowly missing out by loosing in the Semi Final to the Premier team Melbourne Tigers.
Last night at the Big V dinner was just as much about the players as it was the teams and their clubs. Waverley’s Kathleen MacLeod and Andrew Kelly were nominated for a number of awards including League MVP and All Star Five Players. Congratulations to Kathleen and Andrew for their achievements this season!
