Domestic Competitions
Wednesday Schedules and Process
27/09/2018

Attention Wednesday Teams

Over the past few years we've seen a shift around other associations from releasing 'overall grading fixtures' to releasing 'weekly grading games.’  For decades Waverley have always preferred to release five grading games as we understand it's difficult for players and families to commit to weekly changing times with short notice.

However, it's frustrating for teams that arrive and don't get to play due to walkovers and for that we apologise for the inconvenience.  As a solution, we will be testing the ‘weekly grading games’ process for the Wednesday night competition over the next few rounds.  In doing so, we hope to resolve issues with teams withdrawing and entering late, and finding mistakes on schedules.

YOUR FIXTURE FOR EACH ROUND WILL BE RELEASED ON THE FRIDAY BEFORE THE GAME.

Next Wednesday, Round 2, will be published this Friday September 28.  Please disregard any previous grading fixtures you may have printed or noted in your calendars.  Also, please circulate this message with your teammates urgently so they are aware.

Wednesday Men at WBA has a capacity of 72 teams, and most sections have seven teams.  This season we have less teams so rather than having another four weeks of forfeits and missed matches, or reducing fixtures to only four or five teams, we intend to combine a couple of the sections to create larger fixtures to review more matches.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation while we work to create the best and fairest competition as possible.
