Grading Fixtures Good to Go15/04/2015
We have reached the beginning of a new Junior Domestic Season. The Winter 2015 grading fixtures are online now for Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday Competitions. These can be found in the 'Junior Domestic' section of the website.
Please be aware of the following information during the grading rounds:
Grading Sections
WBA has organised the grading sections based primarily on where clubs have entered their teams. There are a few cases where sections have been combined to allow enough teams to put together a fixture. For the grading rounds, we have not divided bigger sections into Green and Gold, to give us a wider breadth of results. For the Regular Season bigger sections may be divided up.
Results during grading
There will always be lopsided results during grading. While it is not very pleasant for teams involved in games with uneven score lines, it is a necessary part of the grading process. Please be mindful of the many factors involved in the grading of teams when reacting to extreme results. Sometimes a team may need to go up, sometimes a team may need to go down, sometimes both. It takes a couple of rounds to work this out in most cases, and changes can’t always be made until the end of grading.
All queries regarding grading, results, game times etc. should be directed through Club Delegates in the first instance, who can then liaise with WBA to discuss.
External Venues
Many families will be heading to external venues for the first time. Information regarding our External Venues is available on the website at the following link: http://www.waverleybasketball.com/page.aspx?id=116
Families are advised to use the official school car parks at both venues. Street Parking is prohibited at the Ashburton venue.
When viewing the fixtures, WP1 is Wattle Park Primary School and ASB1 is Ashburton Primary School.
Sportsmanship
We received an increase in reports of unsportsmanlike behaviour in our Junior Competition towards the end of the Summer Season. It is very important that all players, coaches and spectators remember the importance of conducting themselves in a positive manner and setting a good example for all. Any issues during games should be brought to the attention of the Referee Supervisor at each venue immediately.
